Oberwolfach Seminars 2023

Ph.D. students and postdocs are invited to apply for the "Oberwolfach Seminars" and the "Banach Center – Oberwolfach Graduate Seminars" in 2023. Both seminar series are organized by leading experts in the field, and address to promising early career researchers from all over the world. The aim is to introduce the participants to a particular interesting development.

The Oberwolfach Seminars take place at the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach six times a year. The Institute covers board and lodging. By the support of the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation, travel expenses can be reimbursed up to 150 EUR in average per person (against copies of travel receipts). The number of participants is restricted to 25.

"Banach Center - Oberwolfach Graduate Seminars" are organized in cooperation with the Banach Center (Warsaw) and take place at the Mathematical Research and Conference Center of the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Będlewo. MGG Academy 2023 

The MGG Academy is a training and dialogue format for young professionals from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa and the European Union. The participants work in their home countries in government institutions, research institutions and think tanks, civil society and the private sector. The MGG Academy 2023 is a full time, four-month programme taking place from 17 August to 3 December 2023 at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) in Bonn, Germany. 

The MGG Academy combines academic modules on developing solutions for pressing global challenges with leadership modules to enhance personal and social competencies and an action-oriented project work. Participants in the MGG Academy are granted a scholarship, which covers the current costs of living, all MGG-related costs and travel expenses in Germany and Europe as well as health, personal liability and accident insurances during the training.

Interested candidates and employers are also invited to a digital information session about the MGG Academy 2023 on 7 February, 1.30 – 3 pm UTC.
