Check out the new HLFF Blog article by guest authors Nina Beier and Sina Loriani, who asked several young researchers to choose a meal to describe their research from a new perspective!

What do coffee and probability theory have in common? Maybe more than you might think! This week at the HLFF Blog, we welcome guest authors Nina Beier and Sina Loriani, both of whom are currently Fellows at the MIP.labor in Berlin, an ideas workshop for science communication in mathematics, computer science and physics. During the 10th Heidelberg Laureate Forum in 2023, Nina and Sina interviewed a number of young researchers from mathematics and computer science and asked them: “If you had to choose a meal to describe your research – which one would you choose and why?” Check out the full article to find out what coffee tells us about chaos, or how a soufflé is related to quantum mechanics: What Do Food and Research Have in Common? More Than You Might Think.
