The world we built around us relies on catalysis.

Each year, to signify the bond between the Heidelberg Laureate Forum and the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, a Nobel Prize recipient holds a special “Lindau Lecture” at the HLF. This year, the Nobel Prize-winning chemist David MacMillan took to the stage, delivering his signature lecture on the power of catalysis. MacMillan's lecture explored the intricacies of organic catalysis, a field he helped pioneer, and also offered a glimpse into the future of sustainable chemistry.
