A Connection Made at the 13th HLF: A Mental Health Resource for Our Alumni
One of the things we love most about the Heidelberg Laureate Forum is the people we meet and the connections we make. The HLF brings together people from all over the world, and we never know where a conversation might lead or what valuable insights we might discover along the way. And, of course, we love sharing these discoveries with the AlumNode community!
During the 13th HLF, we had the pleasure of connecting with Dr. Anna Braverman, a clinical psychologist based in Princeton, New Jersey, who has extensive experience supporting graduate students and the international academic community.
Anna’s own journey across countries and cultures, combined with her professional experience, has given her a deep understanding of questions surrounding belonging, identity, and navigating life in new environments. Through her Psychology Today blog, she shares insights and guidance on mental health and the challenges of graduate school, with the aim of helping students navigate their academic journeys while taking care of their well-being.
We thought her blog could be a valuable resource for many of you in our alumni community, whether you’re currently navigating the demands of graduate school, adjusting to a new country, or simply looking for perspectives on mental health and well-being in academic life.
We’re very happy that the HLF brought us into contact with Anna and that we can share her work with you. We hope you find something useful, reassuring, or inspiring in it!
